2018 FREP Conference

Annual FREP/WHPA Conference

For over 25 years, FREP has presented its pioneering fertilizer research at annual conferences. Since 2007, FREP has collaborated with the Western Plant Health Association (WPHA) to create a conference that balances technical research with discussion on practical application. Presenters from academia, industry, and agricultural consulting provide general and technical information, current research and data, and practical applications addressing statewide and regional nutrient management issues.

The 2018 conference will on October 23-24 in Seaside, California. Save the Date! If you would like to be notified when the 2018 agenda and registration are available, email FREP@cdfa.ca.gov with your preferred email address and/or mailing address.

Call for Posters

Posters must have scientific subjects and research results relevant to the efficient use of fertilizing materials in California conditions, such as local climate, crops, and soils. Posters should describe projects that promote improved nutrient and irrigation management practices in agriculture. Anyone, whether funded by FREP or other entities, may submit an abstract.

If you would like to present a poster at the 2018 FREP/WPHA Conference, submit a one-page abstract to FREP@cdfa.ca.gov by September 10, 2018. Submissions must include poster title, author names and affiliations, and a short description of the project. Space is limited, and submissions will be selected based on relevance and quality of abstracts. Posters will be displayed during a reception at the end of the first day of the conference, October 23, 2018.

Registration

Registration will open on August 21. See last year's agenda here. Registration at the FREP/WPHA Conference includes:

  • One and a half days of the latest research and applications for nutrient management, including presentations, a panel discussion, and a poster session.
  • Breakfast and lunch on Day 1, and breakfast on Day 2.
  • The conference presentations and the Proceedings. Select either paper (binder and book) or flash drive as your preferred format. The flash drive includes all past FREP Proceedings and additional resources.
