This is an Rulemaking Notice to amend California Code of Regulations (CCR) Sections 3417(c) and 3588(b) to revise and update the known host list for Mexican fruit fly in California regulations to coincide with the official Mexican fruit fly (Anastrepha ludens) host list promulgated on July 14th, 2021 by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and United Stated Department of Agriculture (USDA).

This regulation is to establish authority for the Department to implement eradication activities for black fig fly (Silba adipata McAlpine) in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties, as advisable. This regulation was originally adopted as an emergency regulation that became effective on September 20, 2021 and expired on March 22, 2022.

On July 19 an amendment was published to add San Diego and San Luis Obispo to the Eradication area.
