Proposal FAQs

Question 1: Do letters of commitment or endorsement from management team members need to be included in the concept proposal?

Answer: No, letters of support from management team members should only be included in the full proposal.  However, the concept proposal should specify each management team member who has agreed to participate in the project.

Question 2: Since the Literature Cited section is only required in the full proposal, is it allowed to include in-text citations in the concept proposal, or should we omit them?

Answer: In-text citations are allowed in the concept proposal.

The goal of the revitalized Biologically Integrated Farming Systems grant program is to provide outreach of innovative, biologically integrated plant-based farming systems that reduce chemical pesticide inputs. CDFA is responsible for supporting agricultural production in California by fostering innovative, efficient and scientifically sound practices. Projects from this program should demonstrate IPM-based alternative pest management options that focus on economical and efficacious biological and cultural pest management techniques that allow growers to maintain yields and quality.
