SECRETARY KAWAMURA WELCOMES APPOINTMENT OF DAVID PEGOS AS ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR LEGISLATION

SACRAMENTO, February 7, 2007 - Governor Schwarzenegger has announced the appointment of David Pegos as assistant secretary for legislation.

Pegos comes to CDFA after serving as coordinator of advertising and promotions for the California State Fair. Prior to that, he served the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research as a legislative consultant for agriculture, water and transportation issues and has nearly a decade of experience working in the legislature, serving as legislative director for a former state senator and a former assemblyman.

“David Pegos is a welcome addition to our executive team as we move forward in the governor’s second term,” said CDFA Secretary A.G. Kawamura. “He brings a wealth of experience that will serve us well legislatively in the months and years ahead.”   

In moving over to CDFA, Pegos said, “I look forward to working with Secretary Kawamura, CDFA and the agricultural community to educate the legislature, consumers and our trading partners about California’s diverse agriculture industry .”
