CDFA ANNOUNCES VACANCIES ON FERTILIZER INSPECTION ADVISORY BOARD


SACRAMENTO   The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Agricultural Commodities and Regulatory Services Branch announces two vacancies on the Fertilizer Inspection Advisory Board (FIAB).  The FIAB makes recommendations to the CDFA secretary on all matters pertaining to the fertilizer inspection and enforcement program, fertilizer research and education, the annual budget, necessary fees to provide adequate inspection services, and regulations required to accomplish the purposes of the California Fertilizing Materials Law.

The term of office for a member of the FIAB is three years.  The members of the board receive no compensation, but are entitled to payment of necessary traveling expenses in accordance with the rules of the Department of Personnel Administration.

Applicants should hold a current California Fertilizing Materials License or be a representative of a licensed firm.  Individuals interested in being considered for board appointment should send a brief resume to the Department of Food and Agriculture, Agricultural Commodities and Regulatory Services Branch, 1220 N Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, Attention: Dr. Stephen Beam, by April 30, 2004.
