~ California State Parks Historical Slide Show
In 2014, Californians will be observing the birth of our State Park System and the beginning of the park movement. This sesquicentennial allows us to reflect on, learn from and share our history with all Californians. To promote the 150th anniversary, California fairs will be hosting contests to promote California state parks at fairs. Special California State Park sesquicentennial commemoration ribbons will be awarded to contestants for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. We encourage you to go visit your local fair to view the 150th anniversary of State Parks competitive exhibits.
