FARM BILL: Influencing the Implementation of Farm Bill Programs
AES staff members participate on the USDA's State Technical Advisory Committee. This Committee is comprised of Farm Bill conservation program stakeholders, including state and other federal agencies, agricultural interest groups, individual growers, and environmental and conservation groups. The Committee has several subcommittees dedicated to developing guidance for the implementation of the Farm Bill conservation programs in California. AES staff members participate on several of these subcommittees, including subcommittees responsible for NRCS wildlife conservation programs, the Farmland Protection Program, the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, and others. Through its participation, CDFA's goal is to make sure that Farm Bill conservation programs will help, not hinder, California growers in their pursuit of environmental quality.
