FARM BILL: Economic Development Through Conservation
CDFA is represented on the Delta Protection Commission by AES. AES has supported the Commission in the development of an application to NRCS for the creation of a Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) area in the Delta. The application is now pending approval. If approved, the Commission would sponsor the formation of an RC&D council made up of local government agencies, growers in the Delta, resource conservation districts and others. NRCS would provide staff support to the council. The council's purpose would be to develop environmentally sustainable economic development in the Delta, capitalizing of the Delta's natural resources and promoting their conservation.
