Healthy Soils Demonstration Projects

HSP DEMONSTRATION PrOJECTS

The HSP Demonstration Projects is to build soil organic carbon and reduce atmospheric greenhouse gases (GHGs) by (1) funding on-farm demonstration projects that showcase California farmers and ranchers implementation of HSP conservation management practices and (2) creating a platform promoting widespread adoption of HSP conservation management practices throughout the state. The HSP Demonstration Projects funds two types of projects. Type A projects will demonstrate implementation of conservation management practices, measure field GHGs emissions, and conduct analysis on cost/benefits for adoption of the proposed practice(s) and anticipated barriers; Type B projects will demonstrate implementation of HSP conservation management practices and/or conduct analysis on cost/benefits for adoption of the proposed practice(s) and anticipated barriers.

2017 HSP Demonstration Projects

CDFA allocated $3.0 million in FY 2016-2017 from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) for 2017 HSP Demonstration Projects.
