Greg Norris serves as the State Conservation Engineer for the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) in California. Greg directs the engineering-related work in the state, with responsibility for managing the Watershed Protection and Flood Reduction program, Snow Survey program and Emergency Watershed Protection program. He also provides leadership to strategically focus NRCS watershed planning, practice standards and technical tools to address California resource priorities.
Greg has over 28 years of experience with the NRCS, working in all regions of California to complete conservation projects. He has specialized experience and knowledge addressing resource issues related to animal waste, water use efficiency, soil erosion control, grazing land health, riparian restoration, salmon habitat and water quantity/quality. Greg received a Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a Master of Science degree from Oklahoma State University, both degrees in Agricultural Engineering with a focus on Ground and Surface Water Resources. Greg is a native of San Diego, California.
