CDFA AWARDS $330,000 FROM PET LOVER'S LICENSE PLATE GRANT PROGRAM TO SUPPORT SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES

EspaŮol

SACRAMENTO, May 6, 2020 - The California Department of Food and Agriculture has awarded $330,000 for nine projects that help stop pet overpopulation through spay/neuter services provided by municipalities and non-profit organizations in California.

Projects funded include voucher programs and mobile spay/neuter services, as well as projects that target reducing the number of pit bull and pit mixes being sheltered, and reducing feral cat colonies in low income communities.

The Pet Loverís License Plate grant program is funded with proceeds generated through the sale of specialized license plates through the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This program would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the California Spay and Neuter License Plate Fund, Inc., whose efforts helped establish the Pet Loverís License Plate Fund.

Pet Loverís License Plate grant program project abstracts are available online at: https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/SpayNeuter/

You can help support the Pet Loverís License Plate program by purchasing a special interest license plate through the DMV
