SACRAMENTO, September 22, 2010 — The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Fertilizer Research and Education Program (FREP) and the Western Plant Health Association (WPHA) are teaming up to present a full, two-day conference on fertilizing techniques, November 17-18, 2010 in Fresno. The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Fresno Downtown Convention Center, 1055 Van Ness Avenue, Fresno, CA 93721. The conference will bring together agricultural supply and service consultants; growers; university extension specialists; crop advisers; researchers; and local, state and federal government officials.
Early conference registration, postmarked by October 25, 2010 is $75 per day or $140 for both days. The fee for currently enrolled students is $35 per day or $70 for both days. After October 25, the registration fee is $100 per day or $175 for both days and the student’s fee is $40 per day or $80 for both days.

The department’s Fertilizer Research and Education Program coordinates and funds research and projects that advance the environmentally safe and agronomically sound use and handling of fertilizer materials.
Western Plant Health Association represents the interests of fertilizer and crop protection manufacturers and retailers, as well as biotechnology providers in California, Arizona and Hawaii. WPHA promotes environmental stewardship and sound agronomic practices, effectively communicates industry issues, engages in legislative and regulatory affairs and facilitates member and industry relations.
