WHAT: Ag Day 2009 will showcase California agriculture in a variety of ways – from a demonstration of people-powered smoothies, on a bicycle, to the “Beagle Brigade,” a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program to detect potentially harmful pests and diseases on imported agricultural products.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture, in collaboration with California Women for Agriculture and the California Foundation For Agriculture In The Classroom, is creating this event to remind the agricultural industry, state legislators and the public that “California Agriculture Is Raised With Care,” the theme of Ag Day 2009.
