111 handlers now enrolled; nearly 100 percent of California leafy greens represented
SACRAMENTO Ė A total of 111 California produce handlers have now enrolled in the Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement, following an extension of time for enrollments announced last month.

The signatory handlers represent nearly 100 percent of leafy greens produced in California.

Final details about the inspection and certification program and use of certification marks by signatories remain under consideration by the Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement Board. 

Inspections are scheduled to begin within weeks. To date, handlers have been subjected to informational audits to prepare them for inspections. In the interim, it is the expectation that each signatory is compliant with the programís guidelines for good agricultural practices.
