SECRETARY KAWAMURA AND STATE BOARD OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE HOST NATIONAL ENERGY COALITION

Coalition seeks 25 percent of energy from renewable resources by 2025

WHAT: Secretary A.G. Kawamura and the California State Board of Food and Agriculture will host the 25x’25 Steering Committee, a national energy coalition dedicated to having 25 percent of total energy consumed in the United States provided by renewable resources by 2025.  The committee will meet during a special session of the State Board of Food and Agriculture.

WHY:  The development of energy from renewable resources provides opportunities for farmers and ranchers to find new markets for their products. California, as the nation’s agricultural leader, can benefit from increased reliance on renewable resources as source of energy. This meeting will highlight renewable energy options for California and the nation.
