SECRETARY KAWAMURA TO JOIN STATE SENATOR JEFF DENHAM FOR VISIT TO FLOOD-THREATENED DAIRY

WHAT:  A media availability with California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary A.G. Kawamura and State Senator Jeff Denham, R-Merced, as they tour a dairy recently threatened by flood waters.

WHY:  The recent spring storms drove water levels dangerously high in reservoirs, rivers, creeks and streams. Even though the storm pattern has given way to nicer weather, the pressure on the water storage system and levees remains high, due to a massive snow pack ready to melt in the Sierra. Secretary Kawamura and Senator Denham will speak of the importance of continued preparation for flooding throughout the Spring.   

DIRECTIONS:  From Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto: Highway 99 south to Buhach Rd./Castle AFB exit. Go right at fork onto Ashby Rd. Turn Right on Franklin Rd. Turn left on SP Ave. Turn right to return to Franklin Rd.   From Fresno: Highway 99 north to Franklin Rd. Exit. Left on Ashby Rd. Left on Franklin Rd.  Left on SP Ave. Right to return to Franklin Rd.
