CALIFORNIA FARM CONFERENCE TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 13-15, 2005


SACRAMENTO– CDFA Secretary A.G. Kawamura is encouraging California’s farmers and ranchers to attend the California Farm Conference, entitled “Traditions and Innovations in a Changing World,” to be held November 13-15, 2005 in Ventura, California.

The California Farm Conference is designed to increase the economic viability of state’s small-scale farmers and their communities. The conference will feature a variety of workshops and courses including such topics as financial management, farm labor, and community issues.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture will have speakers present workshop discussions on Farmers’ Markets, Organic Certification and Food Safety.

The California Farm Conference is organized by twelve sponsoring entities, including the CDFA Certified Farmers’ Market Program, USDA Farm Service Agency, USDA Rural Development, USDA Natural Resource and Conservation Service, and the UC Davis Small Farm Center.
