SECRETARY KAWAMURA ANNOUNCES VACANICES ON THE CALIFORNIA CITRUS ADVISORY COMMITTEE


SACRAMENTO, CA – California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary A.G. Kawamura is announcing seven member vacancies on the California Citrus Advisory Committee.  Appointments will be for five producer and two handler positions.  The committee makes recommendations to the secretary on all matters pertaining to the citrus program, including the annual budget and necessary fees to provide adequate inspection services. 

Two of the producer members shall be engaged in the production of Navel or Valencia oranges, both of which shall be producers from the San Joaquin Valley.  Two producer members shall be engaged in the production of lemons, and one of those two shall be a producer from Ventura County.  One producer member shall be engaged in the production of mandarin citrus.  One handler member shall be engaged in the handling of Navel and/or Valencia oranges, lemons, or mandarin citrus in the San Joaquin Valley.  One handler member shall be engaged in the handling of lemons in Ventura County.
