SECRETARY KAWAMURA ANNOUNCES VACANCIES ON WINE GRAPE INSPECTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE


SACRAMENTO – California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary A.G. Kawamura is announcing 7 member vacancies and 7 alternate positions for the Wine Grape Inspection Advisory Committee. Five of the vacancies are for vintner members and their alternates, and two of the vacancies are for grower members and their alternates.

The Wine Grape Inspection Advisory Committee is charged with making recommendations to the secretary on inspection procedures, research and all matters pertaining to certification of the quality of wine grapes. This committee also recommends the annual budget and fees to provide adequate inspection services.

The nominees must have a financial interest, either personal or through their employment, in growing or processing wine grapes. Potential nominees may only represent one winery or grower’s firm. CDFA is seeking nominees who represent major wine grape production areas in the state.
