SACRAMENTO – The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is announcing four member vacancies and four alternate vacancies for the Shipping Point Advisory Committee. The committee makes recommendations to the secretary of agriculture on all matters pertaining to the Shipping Point Inspection Program, the annual budget, and the necessary fees to provide adequate inspection services.
The Food and Agricultural Code states that the committee is to be composed of fruit and vegetable shippers that use the inspection and certification services of the department. The term of office for a member of the committee is three years. Members of the committee receive no compensation, but are entitled to payment of necessary traveling expenses.
