SACRAMENTO - The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is announcing a vacancy for a member of the public on the Fertilizer Inspection Advisory Board. The board makes recommendations to the secretary of agriculture on all matters pertaining to the fertilizer inspection and enforcement program, fertilizer research and education, the annual budget, necessary fees to provide adequate inspection services, and regulations required to accomplish the purposes of the California Fertilizing Materials Law.
The term of office for a member of the board is three years. The members of the board receive no compensation, but are entitled to payment of necessary traveling expenses.
Applicants for this position should not hold a current California Fertilizing Materials License or be a representative of a licensed firm.
