SACRAMENTO, April 20, 2001-Veteran CDFA employee Don Henry has been appointed Director of Plant Health and Pest Prevention Services, following a successful five-month run as acting director of the division.
Henry has been with CDFA for nearly 30 years, starting his career in 1973 and working his way up the promotional ladder on pest detection and eradication projects. Henry served at the branch chief level for 16 years.
“Don Henry’s experience makes him the best choice to run this division”, said CDFA Secretary William (Bill) J. Lyons, Jr. “Don is a product of the division. He has a unique understanding of its inner workings. I look forward to continued excellence from Don and his employees”.
Plant Health and Pest Prevention services is the largest division at CDFA, with a budget of $60 million and more than 500 employees. The division oversees high profile pest projects like Medfly, Red Imported Fire Ant and Gypsy Moth.
