| Medications There are many medications available for birds. If you have questions about medications you should call your local veterinarian. However, there are some very important facts to remember: there are specific medications for bacteria, fungus, and for parasites. Antibiotics do not work against viruses and there are no antiviral medications available for avian species!!! All medication should be stored appropriately and protected from sunlight and extreme temperatures. Before administering medicine, don't forget to check for expiration dates and discard expired medicines. |
