Undescribed genera from New Caledonia: Intensive collecting in New Caledonia over the last 15 years by Dr Michael Irwin (University of Illinois) has yielded at least 8 new species of therevids in at least two genera. These genera are endemic to New Caledonia and appear to be very rare. Both genera are included here together until a formal description is published. Could be confused with: Squamopygia, Ectinorhynchus, Agapophytus. Systematic grouping: Taenogera genus-group. Diagnosis: Antennae positioned middle of frons; scape elongate; velutum patches on hind and forefemora absent; wing with dark banding, cell m3 open; gonocoxites without velutum patches; medial atrium between gonocoxites absent; dorsal apodeme of parameral sheath T-shaped, ventral apodeme length equal to ejaculatory apodeme; anterior process of female tergite 8 broad; three spermathecae. Distribution: New Caledonia.
