Note: Apsilocephalidae, a close relative of Therevidae, key out here and are represented in Tasmania by two species, Clesthentia aberrans White, and Clesthentiella crassioccipitis Nagatomi et al. Members of Apsilocephalidae are easily recognised by the male having surstyli on the epandrium. Apsilocephalidae are not included in this key.
