FARM BILL: Farm and Ranch Land Protection Program
The Program was formerly known as the Farmland Protection Program, which targeted the protection of Prime Farmland. The revised Program includes an additional focus, the protection of commercial ranch land. The Program offers grants to local organizations and agencies for the purchase of perpetual agricultural land conservation easements from willing sellers. NRCS administers the Program in close collaboration with the California Department of Conservation, which offers the State's counterpart to FPP.
